When? Wednesdays 16:30 - 17:25


Entry by assessment. Current students can enrol; new students aged 9+ should register for this class and ages 5 - 9 years should register for Ballet 1. Those under 5 should join Preparation for Ballet. Students will learn higher levels of ballet vocabulary by learning advanced steps and choreography through learning dances from around the world using techniques such as Stretching, Barre and Centre work. Students progress is monitored through examination through the ISTD syllabus. Exams are taken when students have mastered the necessary dance vocabulary. Students also learn solo dances for showcases, performance days and other events. From simple steps and routines to stretching, barre and centre work leading to performance and exams. Come and amaze yourself!

UNIFORM

Theatre Peckham’s general uniform consists of: Red Theatre Peckham T-Shirt (this comes free with the annual membership!); black tracksuit bottoms or leggings/trousers you can move freely in - no jeans please! Trainers, plimsolls or jazz shoes.

Ballet and Ballet Performance (can be bought at the workshops and taster days)

Girls: Must wear a red leotard. A red skirt or other items such as cardigans/ leg warmers are optional.

Boys: Must wear black shorts and red Theatre Peckham T-Shirt.

All ballet members must wear ballet shoes.

No jewellery should be worn and hair must be tied back.

BEHAVIOUR

At Theatre Peckham we are committed to providing a fun, friendly and safe learning environment for all involved and this relies on the co-operation, positive attitude and proper behaviour from all our members at all times. Any student deemed to be acting or behaving inappropriately will be dealt with according to Theatre Peckham's Behaviour policy.
